Watch: Coach Kevin Wallace explains what he wants to get out of spring football practice at West Forsyth
The 2026 high school football season is creeping up and local teams are beginning their preparations.
Offseason weightlifting and conditioning programs have given way to spring practices in North Carolina, which kicked off earlier this week.
What do coaches want to see from their players during spring practices? And what are coaches trying to accomplish as they prepare for the grind of the summer and 7 on 7s?
We caught up with Kevin Wallace, who is entering his fourth season as the coach at West Forsyth, to see what his goals are for the program during the spring.
West Forsyth finished the 2025 season 10-3 and won the Central Piedmont 8A/7A conference title, rumbling through league play with a 5-0 record, with four of its five conference wins coming from shutouts.
The Titans advanced to the fourth round of the NCHSAA 8-A state playoffs before falling to Hough, which went on to win the state championship.
