Scottie Barnes Earns High Praise as Raptors Pull Even With Cavs in Game 4

In a high-pressure Game 4 at Scotiabank Arena, the Toronto Raptors stormed past the Cleveland Cavaliers to even the series 2–2, riding a dominant second-half surge and a tone-setting defensive effort.

Much like their Game 3 breakthrough, where a massive fourth quarter buried Cleveland, the Raptors leaned on pace, physicality, and a rising star who is quickly changing the conversation around this franchise.

That star? Scottie Barnes.

Postgame, Brandon Ingram, the Raptors marquee acquisition last NBA offseason, didn't hesitate when asked about Barnes' playoff emergence.

"He a killer — defensively and offensively,” Ingram said. “He’s leading our team right now, and we need every bit of it."

Barnes has always been a Swiss Army knife, part playmaking forward, part defensive disruptor, and fully a positionless connector.

He entered the playoffs averaging 18.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.4 steals in 33.5 minutes per game, while appearing in a career-high 80 games during the regular season.

But the playoffs have unlocked something else.

In Game 3, Barnes erupted for 33 points and 11 assists, controlling every layer of the game while leading Toronto to a 126–104 win.

That performance wasn't a one-off. Three days later, he followed it up with 23 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and three blocks in a pivotal Game 4 victory, further cementing his role as the driving force behind Toronto's surge.

And while Barnes is commanding the spotlight, rookie Collin Murray-Boyles is carving out his own impact.

"I ain’t surprised no more. He a dog," Ingram said after Game 4.

Murray-Boyles backed that up with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals in 27 minutes off the bench.

In Game 3, he poured in 22 points and grabbed eight boards, shooting an efficient 11-of-15 from the field, emerging as one of the most physical and reliable contributors for a Raptors team that's suddenly found its edge.
