Sabres Fans Go Viral For Incredible National Anthem During Stanley Cup Playoffs
When the microphone failed during the national anthem in Game 5 between the Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres, the fans offered to help.
Just before puck drop, singer-songwriter Cami Clune was singing the national anthem at the KeyBank Center. But just a few words into her rendition of "O Canada," the microphone stopped working.
Refusing to pause, Clune continued to sing in relative silence. So the Sabres fans decided to help her along by singing the lyrics out loud themselves.

"Heartwarming"
Canadian hockey fans and NHL fans in general were delighted at how much support the Sabres fans showed through their rendition of the Canadian national anthem:
"Watching this game from just outside Calgary Alberta Canada. I LOVE how Buffalo plays the Canadian anthem at their home games. I watched your fans singing the Canadian anthem during the technical difficulties and I was crying. My chest full of pride and admiration. TY Buffalo," one user wrote on X.
"As a Canadian it was heartwarming to hear and feel Buffalo belt out the last half of the (Canada) anthem. We're loving this run by the Sabres," wrote another.
"As a fellow Canadian, thank you to the @BuffaloSabres fan base for being very classy and cool. Hockey fans are the best," a third wrote.
"As an American this gives me hope! I love singing the Canadian national anthem. It's a beautiful song. So glad their neighbors in Buffalo could lend a helping voice! Brought tears to my eyes!"
Boston won the game 2-1 in overtime, but the Sabres still lead the series 3-2. Game 6 of the opening round will be on Friday at TD Garden in Boston.
