Draymond Green Reacts to Steve Kerr's Coaching Opinion

Most NBA stars transition into coaching whenever they decide to retire from the league. Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is someone who many believe will make a smooth transition into becoming a coach. Green is considered one of the most intelligent players in the league and has shown the potential to become a coach in the future.

However, Warriors coach Steve Kerr believes that coaching is more than just knowing what plays to execute on the court. Kerr shared his opinion about how he thinks Green could work as a coach in his weekend interview with The New Yorker. The head coach questioned if the four-time All-Star has the patience to lead a locker room.

"What he's meant to me in my life, what he's taught me in my life was just… Things that he taught me about being a winner, I'm not sure where else I could have got that," Green said on the latest episode of "The Draymond Green Show".

"I could never repay him for that. It's so important to who I've become. As much as he's done for me in basketball, a part of me thinks he's hindered me in my career and what I could've become."

Green said that Kerr has not made a play for him since 2016, when Kevin Durant joined the Warriors. The four-time champion believes he could've done more on the offensive end had the head coach made plays for him in their playbook.

"But if you're gonna take one gripe and not be able to move past it for all the other things, then you're shallow as a person," he added. "That says more about you as a person or Steve or whoever else in that instant. You gotta take the good with the bad."

During Kerr's interview with The New Yorker, the Warriors coach said that he isn't sure if Green will ever coach. He did, however, note that the star forward has the brilliance to manage a squad as a coach. He questioned the NBA player's tolerance, though, and said that his love for the sport had occasionally led him into problems.

"I think he's a really good-hearted person with an incredible brain, but if he wants to coach, he's going to have to learn how to control some of that emotion, that desire, and that fire that burns within him, and it's not an easy thing to do," Kerr said.

Green being a coach wouldn't be a surprise to most fans. Even as a player, he's already been the on-court coach for the Warriors.
