Favorite Emerges to Sign Former 49ers WR Jauan Jennings

The way things are shaping up, new Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray is about to play with the best supporting cast he's ever had in the NFL.

The Vikings already boast one of the best 1-2 punches in the league at receiver with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, and they may be about to add another high-profile receiver to the mix.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Vikings are hosting free-agent wideout Jauan Jennings Tuesday and Wednesday, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport thinks there's a good chance Jennings ultimately signs with Minnesota.

"My guess is when you have a veteran player and an agent who's pretty good like Drew Rosenhaus, they probably already know what the deal is going to be," Rapoport said on the "Pat McAfee Show" on Wednesday.

"So if he's visiting, my guess is he's at an OK place with the deal. So if it all checks out, like I wouldn't be surprised if [Minnesota] signs him, and to me, that would actually be a great spot for him and it would be a good signing for them."

Jennings had a solid year last season, recording 55 catches, 643 yards, and nine touchdowns with the 49ers last season. He's just one year removed from a 77-catch, 975-yard season.

Jefferson and Addison combined for 126 catches, 1,658 yards, and five touchdowns last year with inconsistent QB play between J.J. McCarthy, Carson Wentz, and Max Bosmer. Addison also missed three games.

A WR corps of Jefferson, Addison, and Jennings along with tight end T.J. Hockenson and running back Aaron Jones catching passes out of the backfield, the Vikings are setting up Murray for success.
