Indiana Fever Deliver Lexie Hull News Before Final Preseason Game

The Indiana Fever enter the 2026 WNBA season as legitimate title contenders, and Lexie Hull is one of the reasons why. The fifth-year guard played in all 44 regular-season games, 30 of them as a starter, in 2025, posting career highs of 7.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 three-pointers per game.

In the postseason, she elevated further, averaging 10.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.6 threes over eight playoff games as the Fever made their deepest run in a decade, advancing to the semifinals before falling to the eventual champion Las Vegas Aces. Her availability and versatility on both ends of the floor made her one of the most valuable pieces on Indiana's roster.

However, she has started her 2026 campaign on the sidelines.

Hull entered training camp with a hamstring issue, one that first surfaced before Indiana's preseason opener against the New York Liberty, where she was ruled out as a precaution. She also missed the second preseason game against the Dallas Wings due to the injury, marking two straight absences before the season has officially begun.

On Friday, the Indiana Fever confirmed Hull remains listed as out for the final preseason game against the Nigerian National Team with the same hamstring injury.

Head coach Stephanie White described the issue as just some tightness, making clear the Fever have no interest in risking further aggravation this close to the regular season. "There's really no reason to throw everybody out there … getting the new players in our system reps is important. It's a long season, so making sure we're ready for the regular season" (h/t Chloe Peterson of IndyStarSports).

Saturday's game against Nigeria would have been Hull's final opportunity to get on the court before Indiana's regular-season opener on May 9.

The Fever re-signed Hull during the offseason, which means the organization clearly values her role in what they are building. At 6-foot-1, Hull gives Indiana the kind of wing versatility that is hard to replace.

She is a defender who can guard multiple positions, knock down threes when given space and do the unglamorous work that championship teams require. Fever fans will hope to see her back and healthy in time.
