Paige Spiranac Got An Early Look At The U.S. Open Course

The U.S. Open is a little more than a month away.

The third major of the 2026 golf season is set to take place in June. The 2026 U.S. Open will be held from June 15 to June 21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. Shinnecock is known for being one of the best - and toughest - golf courses in the country. It'll be a big challenge to the top golfers in the world.

Unfortunately, Tiger Woods is not expected to compete.

"I'd be super surprised," Whan told Sports Illustratedwhen asked if he thought Woods would play at Shinnecock this year. "It would be wonderful for the event, and if he was ready, it would be wonderful for him.

"Obviously what he's going through is much bigger than golf. He's proven before that when he puts his mind to something, he's going to be great at it. I'm sure he has a lot of years to play USGA championships. I don't think he's going to play in any 2026 USGA championship. If he ends up playing in USGA championships, great. But when I think of Tiger, my friend, that's not really what's important to me right now."

But while Tiger Woods isn't expected to compete, Paige Spiranac will be there - as a spectator and media analyst, of course.

Spiranac got an early look at the U.S. Open course on Monday. She loved it.

"Windy but a special day at Shinnecock today. Thank you @LondonJewelers and @ROLEX ! Can't wait for the US Open!" she wrote.

Why Shinnecock is one of the toughest courses in the country

The U.S. Open is known for being arguably the most grueling tournaments in the world. Shinnecock is expected to deliver.

Back in 2018, the USGA even admitted that the course was set up "too hard."

"They've lost the golf course," Zach Johnson told Sky Sports in 2018. "When you have a championship that comes down to sheer luck, that's not right."

It'll be interesting to see how hard of a course setup there is in June.

We're looking forward to it.
