Caitlin Clark's Verdict on Raven Johnson After First Weeks With Fever

Raven Johnson has had nothing but good things to say about new Indiana Fever teammate Caitlin Clark. The Fever rookie knows that she has a lot to learn from Clark, and Johnson has shown eagerness to jump on this opportunity.

Clark loves what she sees in Johnson, too.

The Fever selected the former South Carolina Gamecocks star 10th overall in the 2026 WNBA Draft on April 13. It has now been three weeks since Johnson joined the team, which has given ample time for Clark to establish her initial impression of the 5-foot-8 guard.

"Raven is a very, very aggressive defender," Clark said. "She picks up 94 feet. She has very active hands.

"And I think the thing that I really loved about her since really coming into camp is like, she's a sponge. She wants to learn as much as she can. She asks more questions than anybody.

"They're really great questions. She wants to learn. She wants to figure out ways that are not only going to make her better, but also how she can make the Fever better."

Johnson previously admitted that she does ask a lot of questions of her new teammates. In fact, the 23-year-old said that she may have annoyed them with her inquisitiveness.

Clark's comments, however, indicate that this is not the case. In fact, the two-time All-Star is impressed with the type of questions Johnson has been asking.

Clark is expected to lead the Fever to new heights this season as the team looks to secure its first championship since 2012. At the same time, the former Rookie of the Year will also play a key role in the development of her younger teammates, including and most especially Johnson.
