Randy Moss Announces $3.25 Million Move Into Fishing World

Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss remains among the most talented men to ever play football. But as he approaches 15 years since the end of his NFL career, he's found a new sport to enjoy: Bass fishing.

On Monday, Moss announced that he is launching "Chasing 10 with Randy Moss" - a massive bass fishing event in partnership with World Bass Enterprises. He will serve as the ambassador for the $3.25 million event in Nashville - the largest prize pool in bass fishing history.

"Bass fishing has always been a big part of my life and fuels my competitive fire in retirement," Moss said in a statement, via Fox News. "I get the same rush reeling in a bass as I did finding the end zone.

"As I launch Chasing 10 and spend more time on the water, partnering with WBE was an easy choice. From day one I've been impressed with [Brian Bird's] leadership and vision, and I can't wait for The Champions tournament this fall in Nashville."

The tournament will take place between October 28 and November 1, featuring 50 top anglers from the Bassmaster Elite Series and Major League Fishing's Bass Pro Tour

Moss and Fishing

While the announcement may seem like it has come out of nowhere, Moss has said that he's been fishing ever since he was a child and it became one of his favorite hobbies while he was in the NFL.

Moss has even credited fishing as a "therapist" during his recovery from his 2024 cancer battle.

"Did I need a therapist after retiring from football? Maybe," Moss said. "But I use bass fishing and Mother Nature as my therapist. My wife lets me get out two to three times a week."

Moss said that his upcoming YouTube show, which will feature a number of NFL legends and former teammates like Cris Carter and Daunte Culpepper, has just one rule: Have fun and keep the negativity off the boat.

"You get on a boat, have fun, and we're not thinking about any of the negativity," Moss said. "No controversy on my boat."

We wish Moss luck in his new venture.
