Bills Biggest Roster Hole is Problem for Quarterback Josh Allen

Josh Allen is a two-time NFL MVP and one of the best players – let alone quarterbacks – in the game today.

However, even he can’t overcome the many issues that plague the Buffalo Bills. ESPN compiled a list of the biggest roster holes every team in the NFL faces heading into the 2026 season and revealed the Bills have a major problem at the left offensive guard spot.

ESPN argued that after David Edwards left for the Saints in free agency, the Bills have a few options at the position but no clear starter.

“One possibility is veteran Austin Corbett, who dealt with injuries in 2023 and 2024 but started 11 games for Carolina last season. Another possibility is third-year lineman Alec Anderson, who played the role of extra tight end in six-lineman sets for the past two seasons,” ESPN noted.

Buffalo used a fourth-round pick on former Boston College standout Jude Bowry, who could made the switch from tackle to guard, but is an unproven asset. ESPN suggested the Bills should add one more veteran free agent who can play left guard while mentioning longtime Cleveland Browns star Joel Bitonio.

A host of other talented guards like James Daniels, Mekhi Becton and Kevin Zeitler remain available as well.
