Titans' Cam Ward Making Key Development Progress in Year 2
Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward is entering his second season in the league with a new coaching staff.
The No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft threw for 3,169 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions in his rookie season.
The Titans made big changes in leadership after a 3-14 season in 2025, hiring Robert Saleh as their head coach and former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll as their offensive coordinator.

Daboll has a history of developing quarterbacks, helping Josh Allen improve during his time with the Buffalo Bills. At the college level, he helped Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts develop at Alabama.
On Friday, Daboll told reporters that he likes what he’s seeing from Ward during OTAs. Ward has been able to quickly pick up new concepts for the offense Daboll wants to run this year.
“He is a young professional,” Daboll said of Ward, via the Titans. “He wants to be great. He is instinctive. When we are just watching the tape, he is able to communicate the things that he sees and why he did certain things when we watch the tape from last year.
“When we are installing the new system to him, concepts, and things like that, he is able to pick things up very quickly. It has been awesome to work with him.”
The Titans made sure to give Ward better resources this offseason to be more fruitful. With the No. 4 pick in the draft, Tennessee went with wide receiver Carnell Tate out of Ohio State.
The pick was surprising, as many around the league thought Tennessee would give Saleh one of the talented defenders out of Ohio State that was still on the board, like Arvell Reese, Sunny Styles or Caleb Downs.
However, for Saleh to ultimately be successful, the Titans will need Ward to play at an elite level, worthy of the No. 1 pick they used in last year’s draft.
