Colin Cowherd's Top 10 NFL Quarterbacks List Sparks Major Debate
Colin Cowherd isn't waiting until the start of the 2026 season to release his updated list of the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL.
During this Wednesday's episode of "The Herd," Cowherd ranked the top quarterbacks based on production, durability and career momentum. He currently has Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen in the No. 1 spot, with Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes claiming second on his list.
"You can say what you want, I'm not going to punish him. He's been very good in the playoffs and he's won 70% of his games with a defensive coach that most of you don't like," Cowherd said. "I'm sorry, folks, he's been better than Mahomes for two straight years."
Interestingly enough, Cowherd has Caleb Williams as the No. 3 quarterback in the NFL.
Here's the full top 10 from Cowherd:
- Josh Allen
- Patrick Mahomes
- Caleb Williams
- Justin Herbert
- Matthew Stafford
- Joe Burrow
- Lamar Jackson
- Drake Maye
- Jared Goff
- Sam Darnold
NFL fans wasted no time criticizing Cowherd's list this afternoon.
"This gotta be the joke," one fan commented.
"How is Josh Allen number one after a 5 turnover game? Caleb and Justin better than Lamar? Colin is a racist," a second fan declared.
"Just Herbert is not better than any of those guys," a third fan replied. "He's 10 at best."
"This was an all-time horrible Cowherd segment. Straight up gaslighting the audience. Herbert had the best set of tackles the prior year and did nothing," another fan said. "And how you square saying you've always been right on Darnold while saying the same for Baker Mayfield. Beyond parody."
Who missed the cut for Cowherd?
Cowherd said Jayden Daniels, Jalen Hurts, Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love, Baker Mayfield and Dak Prescott missed the cut for his latest top 10.
If we had to guess, Cowherd will probably tweak his rankings between now and the start of the NFL season.
After all, Cowherd loves to stir up debates in the NFL community.
