Brewers' Pat Murphy Announces Jacob Misiorowski Update After Padres Game

Right-hander Jacob Misiorowski has arguably been the best player on the Milwaukee Brewers this year. The 24-year-old flamethrower has appeared in nine games in his sophomore season and has dominated nearly every time he has taken the mound.

He owns a 2.12 ERA with 80 strikeouts across 51 innings of work, and his pitch arsenal has been nearly impossible for hitters to handle.

Misiorowski debuted during the 2025 season and earned a controversial All-Star appearance, with many players believing he had not earned the honor after making just five starts before the selection.

In the second half, he struggled and was eventually moved to the bullpen. Now, however, the breakout is here, and he is well on his way toward earning a second straight trip to the All-Star Game.

Misiorowski's most recent dominant start came on Wednesday at home against the San Diego Padres. He struck out 10 hitters across seven innings, allowing just four hits and zero runs. However, his night ended with concern.

Misiorowski began warming up for the eighth inning, looking to add another frame after throwing only 93 pitches. But while warming, he called for manager Pat Murphy and a trainer.

Moments later, he was removed from the contest, with left-hander Aaron Ashby taking over in relief. After the game, Murphy spoke with reporters and provided an update on Misiorowski's condition. "Pat Murphy said it was a quad cramp for Misiorowski," reported Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920.

This is not the first time Misiorowski has dealt with a cramp this year. He also left a start earlier in May with a hamstring cramp. Fortunately, neither issue involves his right arm, which is always a concern for a pitcher who routinely hits triple-digits on his fastball.

The initial expectation is that Misiorowski should not miss any time and should be able to make his next start.
