A'ja Wilson Makes WNBA History During Aces-Sun

The Las Vegas Aces improved to 3-1 with Friday's 101-94 win over the Connecticut Sun, and star center A'ja Wilson wrote her name in the WNBA record books.

Wilson put forth a dominating performance, scoring 45 points, three rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal while making 83% of her field goals and 100% of her 3-pointers plus all 13 of her free throws to lead the Aces to their third straight victory.

In doing so, Wilson became the first player in WNBA history with multiple career 45-point games, the first player to score 45 or more points while shooting 80% or better from the field, and the first player with five or more career 40-point games.

Her 45 points were also the eighth-most points in a WNBA game.

Social media was buzzing after the game as fans sung Wilson's praises.

"A’ja Wilson, man. Can’t believe I’m so lucky to be watching the GOAT in real time," one fan exclaimed.

"A’ja Wilson cooking like that in just 32 mins is insane. 15/18 FG + perfect from the line? She's not just the best in the W, she's on another planet right now. Absolute dominance," another fan replied.

"A’Ja Wilson has no peer in this league," one user posted.

"A’JA WILSON, YOU ARE THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME," shouted another.

"There isn’t a single player in the league that’s better than A’ja Wilson," remarked one fan.

Entering Friday's game, Wilson ranked ninth in the WNBA in scoring (20 points per game), third in blocks (2.0 per game), and 17th in rebounds (6.3 per game).

She also leads the Aces in points per game, rebounds per game, blocks per game, and ranks third in assists per game (2.3).
