Jalen Brunson's Wife Reacts To Knicks' NBA Finals Berth
Jalen Brunson has cemented himself as the best New York Knicks player of the 21st century and an NBA title would cement him as one of the greatest Knicks in franchise history. There's no shortage of people who are beyond proud of him and his wife Ali is no exception.
Taking to her Instagram Story last night, Ali Marks Brunson shared some photos and scenes from the floor in Cleveland after the Knicks clinched their first trip to the NBA Finals in 27 years. She followed that up by a truly beautiful message dedicated to her husband and her daughter Jordyn.
"I can't wait to tell Jordyn her dad is going to the NBA finals," she wrote, sharing a photo of their child drawing with chalk.
Surging into the Finals
Brunson has been the centerpiece to the Knicks dominating opponents en route to the NBA Finals. He currently has the team on their best postseason run ever and one of the most dominant stretches that any team in any era (regular or postseason) has ever enjoyed.
Through 14 games, his Knicks are 12-2 and he's averaging just shy of 27 points a game along with 2.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists. Most crucially, the Knicks have been so dominant in stretches that he's been able to rest the entirety of the fourth quarter in their clinch games against the Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Through it all, Brunson has stayed humble and grateful to the organization for putting their faith in him.
Brunson famously turned down a $113 million pay raise that he had earned last year in order to help the Knicks build a team more capable of supporting him. That savings he gave the Knicks is likely to be paid back ten-fold in the years to come.
Whether he hoists the Larry O'Brien Trophy or not, Brunson is primed to have his image on every billboard and street corner in Manhattan for years to come.
And if he does win it all, he could become the biggest sports star in the Big Apple since Derek Jeter.
