Tributes Pour In After 2-Time Super Bowl Champion Dies at 79

Tributes are pouring in after a two-time Super Bowl champion died at 79 years old this week.

Manny Fernandez, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Miami Dolphins, has passed away. Fernandez signed with the Dolphins - who were then an AFL team - after going undrafted in 1968. He was part of three teams that reached the Super Bowl, winning two championships in Miami.

The Dolphins announced the passing of the former defensive lineman on Tuesday, May 26.

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Manny Fernandez," the team announced on social media on Tuesday morning.

Tributes for Fernandez are pouring in on Tuesday

"Unfortunately all the 72 phins are passing away ♥️ Manny was one of my favorites," one fan wrote.

"He helped the "No Name" defense of the perfect dolphins make a name for themselves !" one fan added.

"Sad 😢 - Rest easy Manny! 🩵🧡🐬🏈," one fan added.

"He certainly was a name that will never be forgotten. RIP. 😔 ," one fan added.

"Manny was a fixture in the Miami organization and most of my childhood memories watching him play and loving the game. Rest in peace, sir blessings to the family," another fan wrote.

Our thoughts are with his friends and family members during this difficult time.
