Denny Hamlin Offers Touching Message of Support to Samantha and Brexton Busch
The dark clouds wouldn't leave Charlotte Motor Speedway all weekend long. Coming out of the Coca-Cola 600 weekend, Denny Hamlin was still thinking about the family of Kyle Busch while he reviewed the race on his podcast.
Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch were teammates for many years. They would then grow a deeper friendship as they became strictly rivals on separate NASCARCup Series teams.
Hamlin took time on Actions Detrimental to talk about Busch's wife and son, and what the Busch family means to him and his own family. It wasn't that long ago that Samantha Busch was helping to lift up the Hamlin family in her own way.
"Yeah, just, you know we just are going to think about the family and obviously Samantha, Brexton, anything that they need from us or me personally, then we're going to go above and beyond," Hamlin said on his podcast.
"Samantha um, was one of the first people that helped my mom after the fire. You know, she was able to contribute and reached out and helped us. So, uh, that family is very, very caring and our thoughts are with her."
There has unfortunately been a heavy dose of tragedy in the last six months or so in the NASCAR community. The plane crash that killed Greg Biffle and his family as well as three others was in December of 2025. It wasn't long after that Hamlin would lose his father after his parents' home caught on fire. Then to lose Kyle Busch out of nowhere, it is a lot to take for the small world of NASCAR.
Denny Hamlin has many stories and good things to say about Rowdy. As a racer, as a friend, as a father - Busch had many reasons to be remembered and celebrated and they have all come out in the days after his death.
