When Is Netherlands World Cup Squad Announcement? Date, Time and Everything We Know So Far

Under Ronald Koeman, the Netherlands came through UEFA World Cup qualifying unbeaten, scoring 27 goals and conceding just four in eight matches.

As part of their tournament preparations, the Oranje have chosen Kansas City as their base camp and will train at the KC Current Training Facility.

The biggest setback for the Dutch squad is the injury to Xavi Simons, who has been ruled out after suffering an ACL tear. His absence removes an important creative option in attack.

While the final 26-man squad will be announced soon, the Netherlands continue to rely on a strong defensive core, though questions remain over who will lead the line consistently as their main striker.

Much of the team's success will depend on several key players. Virgil van Dijk remains the leader in defence, organizing the back line and helping start attacks with his passing range.

In midfield, Frenkie de Jong controls the tempo of the game with his composure on the ball and ability to progress play through midfield.

With Simons unavailable, Cody Gakpo is expected to carry more of the attacking responsibility, particularly cutting inside from the left side and contributing goals.

On the right, Denzel Dumfries provides energy, physicality, and attacking support from wing-back areas, while Jeremie Frimpong adds pace and direct running that can trouble defenders.

What Time Is Netherlands' World Cup Squad Announcement?

The Netherlands is placed in Group F for the FIFA World Cup 2026 alongside Japan, Sweden, and Tunisia.

The official 26-man roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be announced on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

KNVB is expected to drop the official player list and host the press conference around 6:00AM to 8:00 AM EDT (12:00 PM to 2:00 PM CET).

Head coach Ronald Koeman delayed the highly anticipated squad reveal by two days to give key players battling injuries additional time to prove their fitness ahead of the summer tournament.

Specific announcements will be broadcast via the official OnsOranje or KNVB platforms, and the full lists across the tournament are being monitored on the FIFA Official World Cup Announcements page.
