West Iredell QB among those being featured in nationally-renowned high school football report
West Iredell quarterback JaBraylan Patterson traveled to Raleigh this past weekend where he joined other top-tier high school football players in North Carolina for a photo shoot at Cardinal Gibbons High School.
Patterson and those peers will be showcased in CBS' "The Lemming Report" hosted by Tom Lemming, widely recognized as the pioneer of high school football talent evaluation. He has been scouting high school players since 1978.
"It's an honor to be featured," Patterson said via social media.
"The Lemming Report" airs on the CBS Sports Network. It's the only national weekly high school football recruiting show. It's accompanying magazine, The Tom Lemming Prep Football Report, is a guide that evaluates thousands of the U.S.'s top high school prospects, provides ratings and lists colleges they are considering.
Being invited to participate in the prestigious Lemming Report "cements his place as a national recruit," West Iredell coach Sean Fitzgerald said of his QB in a Facebook post.
Patterson's four Division I scholarship offers include one from Arkansas. More offers are expected to follow as he continues honing his skills.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound rising junior attended the Under Armour All America Next Camp series earlier this month and, in March, he participated in the Nike Elite 11 Regionals.
As a sophomore last fall, Patterson quarterbacked the Warriors to the second round of the 4A state playoffs. Their 45-0 victory over Ashe County in the opening round marked their first playoff win since 2007.
Patterson completed 66% of his passes for 1,628 yards and 10 touchdowns last fall. He also rushed for 222 yards and six TDs.
