So, who should the Nuggets snag later in the draft? In a mock draft out on Saturday, May 23, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report lists his projections for the upcoming draft and has the team going with Dailyn Swain out of Texas as their No. 26 pick.

“Denver’s roster is top-heavy and expensive as heck,” he states in the story. “Cost-controlled contributors are a must if this is going to work, and the Nuggets could see real plug-and-play possibilities with Swain.”
He adds: “He isn’t much of a shooter, but he is one of the better finishers and passers among wings in this class. He can also offer a good amount of versatility on defense, which might be a must if Denver can’t afford to bring back Peyton Watson.”

Saying that Swain isn’t much of a shooter is a bit harsh, but even if he’s not someone who sinks a lot of baskets, it’s certainly the case that Swain is a team player who passes the ball and ensures that someone on his team gets the shot. He’s also a strong defensive player, and that’s something the Nuggets desperately need. Swain’s mix of unselfish playing and his defensive mindset makes this a solid pick for the Nuggets.
