Lamar Jackson Sends Clear Message on Future With Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are entering a new era under head coach Jesse Minter, and the hope remains that star quarterback Lamar Jackson will continue to be part of it long term.

Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million contract back in 2023, and now entering the fourth year of that deal, he seemingly is looking for another extension - something the Ravens also appear open to pursuing.

That said, nothing has materialized yet, and Jackson spoke to the media on Wednesday about his desire to remain in Baltimore, making his feelings very clear.

"Absolutely. I love the Ravens," Jackson said when asked if he wants to stay in Baltimore. "I love this organization. I love this city. This is the team that drafted me. Got a lot of love for me. I've got a lot of love for the city and this team as well.

"Like I told you, the reconstruction is done. Cool with that. But I love Baltimore. Everybody should know that by now."

Jackson admitted he was quite "shocked" when John Harbaugh was fired this offseason after spending all eight of his NFL seasons with the coach, but he also said the Ravens feel reenergized under Minter and the new coaching staff.

"I was shocked," Jackson said. "I hope coach is having a great, great time in New York. Hats off to coach because he did so much for the city, for the team, for the organization. Hats off to him in New York."

When asked about having a new coaching staff and whether it feels refreshing, Jackson described it as a "breath of fresh air."

"I would say ‘yes' because new coach, new [offensive coordinator], new guys in positions," Jackson said. "Everything is just new, basically, besides upstairs right now. Coaching staff is new. I'd just say it's a breath of fresh air because everything is just new."
