Caitlin Clark Taking a Page Out of Steph Curry's Playbook With Recent Move
Indiana Fever superstar has worked with Stephen Curry's trainer, Brandon Payne, to elevate her game.
Apart from recovering from the groin injury that sidelined her throughout the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season, Clark has also sharpened her game during the offseason.
Ahead of Thursday's matchup against the Golden State Valkyries, Clark revealed that she worked with Payne to further improve her impact on the team.
"Yeah, I mean, obviously I knew he worked with Steph, and I love Steph's game," Clark said during her media availability.
"I'm just looking for some creative ways to make myself better and challenge myself. I feel like he's found a lot of ways to do that over the course of the offseason of us working together. I think it's really challenged my mind."

The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year winner made it clear that the shooting mechanics weren't the only thing she and Payne worked on, but also other crucial aspects of her game.
"It's not like we're just in there shooting shots. It's as game-like as we can make it, and I think that was something I was really looking for," Clark mentioned. "Obviously, coming off an injury, it's really difficult to get those types of reps and things like that. That was really good for me."
The former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar also hopes that working with the renowned trainer would work wonders for her, especially given how Curry's career panned out, with four NBA titles and two MVPs.
"Obviously, what he's been able to do with Steph gives you a lot of confidence in the things he can maybe bring to me," the Fever guard stated. "I've learned a lot. I've watched a lot of film with him. I'm just really thankful for his time. He's poured a lot into me over the course of the offseason, so I'm really thankful for him."
Finally, Clark disclosed the workout routine Payne gave her for this season to keep her sharp, as well as the benefits of having different coaches.
"He gave me a different glimpse into a way to work out. You get into these patterns of doing things your own way for however long that is," Clark spilled. "Obviously, you have different coaches and different player development people, but getting exposed to as many different ways to work out as possible can be valuable. If it really works for you and you continue to do it, you kind of stick with it. I've loved it so far."
