Video of Blue Jays' Jesus Sanchez Getting Hit by Fan is Trending
The Toronto Blue Jays took on the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday in the final game of a four-game set, as Toronto looked to take the series after winning two of the first three matchups.
During the sixth inning, a bizarre situation occurred, as Blue Jays right fielder Jesus Sanchez was struck in the right arm or wrist by a ball that was thrown by a fan in the stands. After being hit by the ball, Toronto staffers checked on Sanchez, and manager John Schneider decided to remove him from the game.
The Blue Jays replaced Sanchez with Yohendrick Pinango in right field after the incident.
Sportsnet reporter David Singh broke the news that Sanchez was exiting the game after being hit by the ball from a spectator. The right fielder went 1-for-2 at the plate before leaving.
After the incident occurred, a video surfaced online and started trending on social media of Sanchez being hit.

This is not something you see very often, and comes as Sanchez had been going in the right direction offensively. Before Sunday's game, the 28-year-old had played 56 games this season, putting up a slash line of .285/.322/.461 with an OPS of .783, totaling six home runs and 28 RBIs.
If Sanchez is forced to miss time due to this injury, it would be just the latest in a long list of injuries to Blue Jays players this year. Star players like Alejandro Kirk, Max Scherzer, Dylan Cease and Addison Barger have all missed significant time during the 2026 season.
Toronto trailed Baltimore 9-1 in the middle of the seventh inning on Sunday.
