Browns Get Kudos for Addressing ‘Massive Issues' With Offense
The Cleveland Browns have an interesting quarterback situation going into 2026, with veteran Deshaun Watson finally healthy and ready to prove that he’s worth his contract and second-year quarterback Shedeur Sanders also wanting the starting role.
But it’s not all about the quarterbacks. One of the team’s other offseason moves is drawing attention.
In a recent feature for The Athletic, Mike Sando lists his favorite moves for each NFL franchise during the league’s offseason. “With most major NFL offseason moves complete, it’s a good time to single out a favorite move for each team,” he states in the piece.

He gives the team praise for trading back from No. 6 and still getting the draft’s first offensive lineman.
“This move is less about Spencer Fano, the prospect Cleveland drafted at No. 9, and more about the Browns’ maneuvering to address massive issues on the offensive line,” he states in the piece. “The team had already acquired veteran lineman Tytus Howard, among other reinforcements, heading into the draft. The Browns still needed all the line help they could get in the draft but still showed patience in the first round, maximizing value.”

In order for any of the Browns’ quarterbacks to succeed, whether that’s Watson or Sanders, they need a strong offense. That’s exactly why the team’s move to fix their offensive line will pay off so big going forward.
