Report: Tiger Woods 'Determined' To Return To PGA Tour

Tiger Woods has already decided if he'll continue his golf career or retire at the age of 50.

Woods, who was involved in a rollover accident on March 27, was arrested on suspicion of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. The Martin County Sheriff's Office said he had pain pills in his pocket at the scene of the crash. After being released from jail, the 15-time major winner announced that he was taking a break so he could undergo treatment.

"I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery," Woods said in a statement. "I'm committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time."

It was later reported by TMZ that Woods traveled to Switzerland to enroll in a rehab program. Well, he's apparently about to leave that said program.

"The original plan was for Tiger to do a three month rehab program, which should stay on target unless something major changes," the report from People stated. "Tiger is doing the best he can with all of the pressure on him with healing and also the legal issues he faces in coming months. This has created a great deal of stress."

People also reported that Woods is "determined" to return to the golf course, which is great news for the PGA Tour.

"I don't know when it will be or how he will do it, but Tiger is determined to return," an insider told People. "He has to get his pain management going in the right direction and also be able to continue a fitness routine, which will help him do the best he can when seriously playing golf. This could be tough. But it's something he wants."

Woods hasn't competed in an official PGA Tour event since the 2024 Open Championship.

Would the PGA Tour welcome Tiger back?

When Woods revealed he was taking a break to focus on his health, PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp offered his full support.

"Tiger Woods is one of the most influential figures the sports world has ever known. Over the last year, I have come to deeply appreciate Tiger not only for his impact on the game, but for his friendship and the perspective he has shared with me as I joined the golf industry," Rolapp said. "My thoughts are with him and his family as he takes this step, for which he has my full respect and support."

Woods is no longer the player he once was, but he's still the most popular golfer in the world. If he were to return to the course for an upcoming event, that'd be great news for the PGA Tour.
