Northern, Northwest, Page lead in boys lacrosse all-state picks; McLaughlin named to girls
Northern Guilford's boys lacrosse team placed five players on the all-state or honorable mention lists for the North Carolina Lacrosse Coaches Association, the most of any boys or girls area team for the 2026 season.
Of those all-state picks, Nighthawks junior goalie Ben Silver was the lone first-team selection from a team (21-7, 15-1) that won Conference 15 and reached the 1A-6A state quarterfinals. Silver had 325 saves and a state-leading .740 save percentage.
Northern senior attack James Savage received second team all-state after his 75 assists led the conference. Also, he was second in the state and tied for sixth in the nation. His 93 goals were second in the conference, tied for sixth in North Carolina and tied for 14th nationally, while his 168 points led the conference, rank third in the state and rank fourth in the nation. His teammate and junior midfielder Connor Langford also received second-team honors.
Northwest Guilford (13-10, 6-2), the Conference 18 runner-up, had two all-state selections, both 8A first team. Senior long stick midfielder Tre Parrett's 230 ground balls led the conference and Class 8A and were tied for third in the state, while his 80 takeaways also led the conference and ranked sixth statewide and his 74 goals ranked third in the conference. Senior defender Walker Riordon was third in the conference in groundballs with 106, third with 54 takeaways and tied for fourth with 24 assists.
Page (19-9, 14-2) had three all-staters, with all three being picked to the second team, from the Conference 15 runner-up and 7A third rounder. Sophomore attack Rowen Hild's 111 goals ranked first in the conference, third in the state and tied for sixth nationally. Sophomore defensive midfielder Jesse Poole got a team-high 81 groundballs, while junior Grant Terrell was selected for defense.
Cornerstone Charter's senior long stick midfielder Ryan Williams earned second-team all-state after recording 121 ground balls, 6.4 per match, for the 12-7 Cardinals, who were the Conference 13 runner-up at 8-2 and reached the 1A-6A second round.
Southeast Guilford senior midfielder Clarke McLaughlin was the only area girls player to earn all-state honors, appearing on the second team, after leading Conference 10 in goals (85), ground balls (71) and points (100). Northwest Guilford junior defender Angel Aduloju was an honorable mention, giving the area two representatives.
The boys selections were divided into each NCHSAA classification. The girls selections were not.
The all-state lists for each gender were released on Thursday by the association. Following are the local all-state and all-region selections.
