Martin Truex Jr. Remembers Kyle Busch with Touching Words Ahead of Michigan Race
One driver that NASCAR fans don't hear from much is Martin Truex Jr. This weekend, Truex is on the Prime Video broadcast. This is his first time to publicly talk about the late Kyle Busch and what all he meant to him as a friend and competitor.
This is the third race weekend without Kyle Busch. It was a fitting tribute to have Martin Truex Jr. share one of his favorite memories of Busch, and say a few kind words about his late friend.
"It was good, and you know, that was one of my favorite memories of Kyle Busch away from the race track," Truex said after a clip from the 2019 Championship 4 trip to New York City was played on the Prime Video broadcast. "We had, you know, a lot of great memories obviously on the race track and battles. We started, I think, in 2005 we raced for a championship against each other and went one-two, but Kyle off the race track that I got to know over the years was just a lot of fun.
"You just seen it right there, it was classic Kyle. He wanted to pull one over on everybody and come out going, 'Hahahahaha, you know, I won the deal. I outsmarted you guys.' Obviously, thinking about his family and all that. You know, miss Kyle. He was one of a kind, a special guy, and a great friend."

The impact of Kyle Busch cannot be measured. He was a force on and off the track. His old teammates, competitors, crew members, friends, and fans have made that all so plainly clear.
In the weeks since Busch's death, it has been a mournful state over the sport of NSACAR. There is something missing every weekend that he isn't suited up and behind the wheel. It was great for fans to hear that from Martin Truex Jr. and all of the other former drivers who have shared their memories of Rowdy.
