Knicks Fans Furious With 'Ridiculous' Security Outside MSG for Game 3
A large security wall has been set up outside of Madison Square Garden heading into Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Monday evening, as U.S. President Donald J. Trump is expected to be in attendance.
New York Police announced the security procedures on Monday morning.
"Tonight is Game 3 of the NBA finals – an exciting time for New York City – and we want everyone to be able to enjoy the game safely. With tonight's presidential visit, there will be extra security measures in and around MSG that the NYPD and Secret Service have planned together," NYPD announced on X.
"Starting at 4pm today, vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be closed from West 30th Street to West 35th Street between 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue. No one will be allowed inside the secure area unless you have a ticket to the game, a train ticket, are going to a business inside the area, have credentials, or have some other authorized reason to be there."
Tick Pick shared a video of the security wall outside of the arena.
Knicks fans, understandably, are not happy. Security is important, of course. But many feel that the vibes have been "ruined" for Game 3.
Madison Square Garden has been known for large crowds and electric atmospheres. But things will be different outside of the arena on Monday night.
