Caitlin Clark Couldn't Sleep Well Before Angel Reese Game

Caitlin Clark has been electric for the Indiana Fever so far during the 2026 WNBA season. After an injury-plagued year in 2025, Clark has not only matched her games played from last season (13) but is also averaging a career high in points per game (20.4) and a career low in turnovers per game (4.6).

The Iowa Hawkeyes star has led Indiana to a 9-5 start, No. 3 in the Eastern Conference and No. 6 overall in the league. Clark is fourth in the league in scoring and tied for first with Phoenix Mercury guard Alyssa Thomas in assists per game (8.3). The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year has been tireless in her efforts to play for the Fever despite back problems.

Apparently, Clark has been tireless off the court as well. On Thursday, the 6-foot guard admitted to the press that she did not sleep well before the game against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream.

Although Clark and Reese have a fierce rivalry, Clark stated that her lack of sleep was not due to the upcoming competition. The Dowling Catholic High School graduate revealed her sleepless night was due to anticipation surrounding the promotion of her new signature shoe, the Nike Caitlin 1s, that morning. The three-year pro's excitement for the reveal was compared to that of a child on Christmas morning.

"Even yesterday, knowing I was going to post that early in the morning," Clark said. "I didn't sleep very well. I was just so excited. And I went to bed late, obviously, because we played the night before, so kind of like a kid on Christmas, you get to show the world what you have been working on for a couple years..."

The game between Indiana and Atlanta is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
