Mike Trout Sends Message to Angels Fans on Fourth of July

Mike Trout thanked fans Saturday after being voted into the 2026 MLB All-Star Game as a starting American League outfielder, celebrating the honor with a patriotic message on the Fourth of July.

The Los Angeles Angels star expressed his appreciation on social media after fans voted him into the starting lineup for the 12th All-Star selection of his career.

Trout, 34, has now earned 11 fan-elected All-Star starts, joining Cal Ripken Jr. and George Brett as the only American League players to reach that mark with one franchise.

The three-time American League MVP has enjoyed a healthy 2026 season, batting .233/.393/.473 with 17 home runs, 12 doubles, 36 RBIs and seven stolen bases in 73 games. He also ranks among the American League leaders with 66 walks and 54 runs scored.

This year's All-Star Game will be played at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, about 45 miles from Trout's hometown of Millville, New Jersey. After injuries limited his recent All-Star appearances, the hometown setting makes this selection especially meaningful.

The Angels entered Saturday with a 36-54 record, sitting last in the American League West. While the club has struggled this season, Trout has remained one of its most productive players and continues to lead the lineup.

Trout's résumé includes three American League MVP Awards, nine Silver Slugger Awards, the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year Award and two All-Star Game MVP honors. Earlier this season, he also surpassed 1,800 career hits and 3,500 total bases.

He'll now have the opportunity to play in front of family and friends when the All-Star Game returns to Philadelphia. The hometown appearance gives one of baseball's biggest stars another memorable moment in a career already filled with milestones.
