The Carolina Hurricanes will honor Peter Karmanos Jr., the team’s CEO, owner and governor, before Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers at PNC Arena.
Karmanos was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday in the category of Builder. The Hockey Hall of Fame defines a Builder as an individual who has contributed to the development of the game of hockey, moving the game forward.
Karmanos, 72, has been involved in hockey for 40 years, making an impact in youth hockey, the Ontario Hockey League, the ECHL and the National Hockey League.
