Observations
When UNC and Davidson last played in the Smith Center the Tar Heels needed overtime to pull out a 97-85 victory. The Wildcats are in position to give UNC a game again. Three Davidson starters are averaging at least 17 points per game and junior guard Jack Gibbs scored a career-high 41 points in a victory against Charlotte on Thursday. UNC is coming off an emotional victory against Maryland in which senior guard Marcus Paige scored 20 points in his season debut. Expect a fast pace with some scoring on Sunday night. Davidson is 18th in the nation in adjusted offensive efficiency, according to kenpom.com, while UNC is fourth.
