ECU facing tough Temple defense

Key theme: ECU, coming off a 30-17 win over Tulsa, is the favorite in the matchup against No. 22 Temple. However, the Owls have given up just 14.7 points per game this season, and Pirates’ coach Ruffin McNeil thinks it’s the execution by Temple’s defense that makes them so solid.
“They do a really good job of being disciplined in their run-gap thought process. They blitz. They also have a front seven that might be the best in the league. The front four can apply pressure. They involve all seven in run stopping,” he said.
