Is the ACC really the seventh-best conference in college basketball? At least one computer algorithm thinks so not only because the lack of marquee wins out of league play, but the historically bad year teams like Georgia Tech, Notre Dame and Louisville are having.

A year ago, the league bounced back from a mediocre regular season with a stellar NCAA Tournament showing as North Carolina and Duke reached the Final Four and Miami advanced to its first-ever Elite Eight.
