Triangle college sports fans will be glued to televisions again beginning Thursday night and into the weekend.

After men’s and women’s tournament games were spread across nine different channels for last week’s opening rounds, the task of finding the game is a bit easier this week.

On the men’s side, Thursday and Friday games involving North Carolina, Duke and N.C. State will all be shown on CBS.

On the women’s side, N.C. State and Duke will have their Friday and Saturday games on ESPN.

The No. 1 seed UNC men suffered a season-ending loss to No. 4 seed Alabama, 89-87, Thursday night.

In Dallas, the CBS Triangle doubleheader in the South Region started with ACC champion and No. 11 seed N.C. State (24-14) defeating No. 2 seed Marquette (27-9), 67-58., followed by No. 4 seed Duke (26-8) taking on top-seeded Houston (32-4).

The Wolfpack will meet the winner for the South Regional championship and a Final Four berth on Sunday.

This is N.C. State’s eighth straight win to make it to the program’s first Sweet 16 appearance since 2015. N.C. State is the lone double-digit regional seed to survive the first weekend.

In women’s NCAA Tournament play, N.C. State (29-6) entered the tournament as a No. 3 seed in its regional and defeated No. 2 seed Stanford (30-5), 77-67, Friday night.

No. 7 seed Duke (22-11) traveled last weekend and upset No. 2 seed Ohio State, 75-63, on Sunday to advance to the Sweet 16 in Portland. The Blue Devils will face No. 3 seed Connecticut (31-6), with the winner moving to Monday’s regional final.
