My projection of the four teams for the College Football Playoff and the four other New Year's bowls.
The top four teams, as ranked by the 12-person selection committee, will be placed in the Orange and Cotton Bowls and meet on Dec. 31. The winners will meet on Jan. 11 in Glendale, Ariz. for the national title.

Cotton: No. 2 Alabama vs. No. 3 Oklahoma
Oklahoma (11-1) is the only team in the barn and the only one that should feel safe. Clemson has to face UNC (11-1), Alabama plays Florida (10-2) and Michigan State gets Iowa (12-0) in the conference championship games this week.
There’s probably an upset out there given how crazy this football season has been.
New Year’s bowls
Sugar: Florida (SEC) vs. Oklahoma State (Big 12)
Rose: Iowa (Big Ten) vs. Stanford (Pac-12)
Fiesta: Ohio State (at large) vs. Houston (Group of 5)
Peach: Florida State (at large) vs. Notre Dame (at large)
The SEC and Big 12 are contracted to the Sugar Bowl and only Big Ten and Pac-12 can play in the Rose Bowl.
Houston beat Navy, 52-31, and should move up in this week’s rankings as the highest-rated team from the “Group of 5.”
It will be interesting to see how the committee sorts FSU, Notre Dame, Baylor and TCU, who each have two losses. There’s two spots for those four teams.
