Duke gets Tre Jones back for ACC clash

Tre Jones’ recovery from a sprained left foot is complete.

The sophomore point guard, who missed No. 2 Duke’s last two games, has been cleared to return and will be available when the Blue Devils face Boston College in an ACC game on Tuesday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The 6-2 Jones averages 15.6 points and 7.1 rebounds this season for the Blue Devils (11-1, 1-0 ACC). He suffered the injury in practice earlier this month and was not in uniform for Duke’s 86-57 win over Wofford on Dec. 19 and Saturday’s 75-50 win over Brown.

Jones participated in a light, non-contact practice two days before the Brown game but wasn’t healthy enough to play against the Ivy League school. But he returned to Duke’s full practice sessions on Sunday and Monday, clearing the way for his return.

The Blue Devils face the Eagles at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Cameron Indoor Stadium, beginning their stretch of 19 consecutive ACC games over the remainder of the regular season.
