Duke was anticipating a showdown with another Top 25 team.

One day ahead of its home contest with No. 15 Georgia Tech, the No. 17 Blue Devils found out they’ll have to wait.

Wednesday afternoon the ACC announced that Thursday’s contest between Duke and the Yellow Jackets was postponed due to health and safety protocols within Georgia Tech’s program.

A makeup date hasn’t been determined yet by the league.

The Blue Devils (10-2, 1-1) next game will now be on Jan. 9 at Syracuse. The Yellow Jackets (10-3, 1-1) will host Virginia on Sunday.

Clemson at Florida State and Virginia at Virginia Tech were also postponed. The Seminoles and Cavaliers are also in COVID protocols.

Duke is coming off a 72-70 win over Notre Dame on Sunday. The Blue Devils only played four games a year ago before canceling their season due to COVID-19. This is the first game postponed this season for Duke.
