“You’re going to get back to me?”

That is the last of several funny lines delivered by Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski, the legendary veteran coach who is also the star of AT&T’s newest commercial that debuted on CBS during NCAA tournament games on Thursday evening.

The commercial — which will air throughout the 2022 NCAA tournament, per reports from Sports Business Journal — shows a lighthearted side of the coach from Durham.

It begins with the recurring AT&T character, “Lily” (Milana Vayntrub), interviewing Krzyzewski, who is apparently applying to work alongside Lily in an AT&T store.

Lily: “Thanks for coming in, Coach. It says here you manage teams. What about a store?”

Krzyzewski: “Well, it would be a first, but I’m really confident I would be successful at it.”

The interview continues before Krzyzewski interrupts Lily: “Look, I can’t work the month of March.”

Lily: “The entire month of March?”

Krzyzewski: “It’ll be a week-to-week thing.”

Lily: “You know what? We’ll get back to you.”

Then Krzyzewski’s final, aforementioned humor kicks in: “You’re going to get back to me?”

You can view the commercial below.

The Coach K cameo is the product of an AT&T rollout of NCAA tournament-themed sketches that will air all tournament long. Other celebrities have been enlisted in these sketches, too, including the Charlotte Hornets’ LaMelo Ball, Kumail Nanjiani, Matthew Stafford, Zooey Deschanel and Rosario Dawson.

No. 2 seed Duke opens its NCAA tournament run against No. 15 seed Cal State Fullerton on Friday at 7:40 p.m.
