Three things to watch
1. UNCW’s defense against Brandon Ingram
Ingram is a matchup nightmare for every team, UNCW included. Chris Flemmings, the Seahawks’ best player, will be tasked with guarding him. “He’s probably the closest thing that I’ve seen to Kevin Durant,” Seahawks coach Kevin Keatts said.
2. How often can Duke get to the free-throw line
The Seahawks rank 350 out of 351 Division I teams in terms of how often they send opponents to the free-throw line. The Blue Devils aim to drive and get fouled as it is, so this game could stretch on beyond its TV window with all the stoppages in play.
3. Marshall Plumlee’s ability to play with his face mask
Plumlee has a new face mask for his broken nose made of clear plastic – gone is the white plastic, Phantom of the Opera-esque look. He said the sight lines are better in his new mask, and he took it off while shooting free throws at the end of practice.
