Duke will welcome at least three freshmen onto the team in 2015.
Scholarship recruits Chase Jeter and Luke Kennard have already signed their letters of intent to come to Duke, and, earlier this week, the Blue Devils decided to welcome Justin Robinson—son of Basketball Hall of Fame center David Robinson—into the fold as a preferred walk-on.
Typically, this is something seen in football—a player isn’t given a scholarship but is told he has a spot on the roster. That’s the deal with preferred walk-ons.

Robinson, a 6-foot-7, 185-pound forward from San Antonio (Tex.) Christian, was admitted to Duke in the early decision pool last week, clearing the way for this offer. None of the major recruiting services list any scholarship offers for Robinson, who has attended Duke basketball camps in years past. Robinson’s older brother, Corey, plays football for Notre Dame as a wide receiver.
