Laura Keeley’s 2015 AP football poll ballot: Week 2

Urban Meyer’s fourth Ohio State Buckeyes team enters the season ranked No. 1, incredibly the first unanimous choice in AP top 25 history.

File this under better late than never, but here is how I voted in this week’s AP poll.

I tried to balance not overreacting to one week with not being too attached to my preseason poll, which was basically arbitrary guesswork. I also wanted to reward teams for strong performances. Thus, UCLA and Notre Dame rose in the poll—on the flip side, that required a few teams falling. But it was a reflection on the impressive wins the Bruins (with new freshman quarterback Josh Rosen) and the Fighting Irish put together rather than a punishment for other teams playing weaker competition, in most cases*

*Oregon’s defense was pretty scary against FCS Eastern Washington, so they fell a bit. Same goes with Arizona against Texas-San Antonio.
