NC State to play Florida Gators in home-and-home football series
N.C. State is heading to The Swamp.
The Wolfpack has signed a home-and-home series with Florida, the school announced on Thursday. N.C. State will host the Gators in 2026 and travel to Gainesville in 2032 to play in “The Swamp.”
“We’ve taken a long look at our future nonconference scheduling strategy, and we’ll make every effort to provide opponents and opportunities that enrich the experience of our student-athletes and passionate fan base,” N.C. State Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be able to schedule a home-and-home series with a nationally-prominent program in the University of Florida. It will be a great experience to bring a non-conference opponent of this caliber to Carter-Finley Stadium, and in the future, will bring a first-class experience to our student-athletes and spectators who will make the return trip to Gainesville.”
The last time N.C. State and Florida met was in 1992 in the Gator Bowl. They last played in Raleigh under Lou Holtz in 1975. The Wolfpack won that game, 8-7. The last game in The Swamp was in 1970, a 14-6 win by the Gators.
The two teams have played five times in Raleigh.
The Wolfpack is scheduled to host an SEC opponent, Mississippi State, this season on Sept. 12. The last time N.C. State hosted an SEC team was in 2009, when South Carolina came to town in the season-opener.
