Bubble burst! Former NC State star TJ Warren explodes for career-high 53 points

So what if there are no real fans in the stands and games are played in a bubble. As long as the basket is still 10-feet off the ground, T.J. Warren can still put the ball in the basket.

Saturday night, Warren, the former N.C. State forward and Durham native scored a career-high 53 points during the Indiana Pacers 127-121 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Warren showed no rust from a four-month layoff, shooting 20-of-29 from the field and 9-of-12 from the line in 41 minutes of action. It’s the third 50-point game in Pacers history behind Reggie Miller (57) and Jermaine O’Neal (57). Warren’s previous high this season was 36. He also added four rebounds and was 4-4 from the foul line. Since 2010 only three players have scored 50 or more with less than five free throw attempts, according to StatMuse.

The 6-8 Warren, in his first season with the Pacers, scored 29 points in the first half. Warren is averaging 18.7 points per game this year for Indiana (40-26). Warren has started all 61 games and is shooting a career-high 52 percent from the field. The 2014 lottery pick was traded from the Phoenix Suns to Indiana last summer.
