Tonight’s game with Georgia presents an opportunity for No. 2 N.C. State to check a box.

The Wolfpack women’s basketball team has never beaten the Bulldogs, currently ranked No. 17 in the AP poll.

N.C. State (10-1, 1-0) has already knocked off two opponents ranked in the top 10. UGA (8-1) will be making its first trip to Raleigh since 1987. Not only have the Bulldogs won each time the teams played, they’ve dominated the Pack, winning by an average of 16.5 points per game. Three of Georgia’s wins in the series were by 20 points or more.

Every time the Pack and Bulldogs play at least one team has been ranked. In six of the previous eight matchups, both teams were ranked. Thursday’s showdown will be the first time N.C. State has been the higher ranked team.

Under Wes Moore, the Pack has defeated 26 ranked opponents, including seven wins at home versus teams in the top 25.

N.C. State and Georgia will air on ACCN at 6 p.m.
