With NC State’s Elite 8 appearance, here’s what Wes Moore made in bonuses this season

Leading the Wolfpack to the Elite Eight for the first time since 1998, N.C. State coach Wes Moore finished the 2021-22 college basketball season with $260,000 in bonuses and a $75,000 pay increase that will take effect next season.

Advancing to the regional semifinals for the fourth consecutive year, the Pack (32-4) defeated Notre Dame (24-9) 66-63 to make its second Elite Eight appearance in program history. As N.C. State’s season came to an end in Bridgeport, Conn., 2 million fans tuned in for the Wolfpack’s regional final matchup against UConn, which the Huskies won 91-87 in double overtime.

Moore earned $75,000 for his team’s Elite Eight appearance. That was in addition to the bonuses he received for his team making the NCAA tournament ($25,000) and advancing to the Sweet 16 ($50,000), based on his contract.

He also earned $50,000 for N.C. State winning the regular season title and another $50,000 with N.C. State finishing No. 3 in the final AP Top 25 poll.

Moore also added $10,000 this season when he was named the ACC coach of the year.

In nine season as N.C. State’s head coach, Moore has won 222 games. The Pack, which has won three straight ACC tournament titles, is averaging 21 wins per season under Moore.

Last season, N.C. State was a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history. This season the Wolfpack again earned a top seed.
