N.C. State added a fourth offensive lineman to its 2023 recruiting class Sunday, with a verbal commitment from Kamen Smith.

Smith (6-5, 275), a left tackle and basketball player at Wilkes Central High, picked the Pack over UNC, Virginia Tech and South Carolina.

In a video posted to his Twitter account Sunday, Smith thanked his parents, grandparents and coaches for helping him get to this point.

“With all that being said, I’m blessed to announce that I’ll be continuing my athletic and academic career at N.C. State University,” Smith said. “Go Pack, baby.”

Smith, a three-star prospect, is the No. 23 player in North Carolina, based on 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. With Smith, N.C. State has commitments from six of the top 25 players in the state. Seven of the 11 players committed to the Wolfpack’s 2023 class are from North Carolina.

Thursday, the Pack could add another in-state prospect to its class. West Charlotte High running back Daylan Smothers, the No. 9 player in N.C., will announce his school. Smothers, who led Julius L. Chambers High to a state title as a sophomore in 2020, and back to the state title game in 2021, has N.C. State, Florida State, Alabama and Oklahoma in his top four.

Smith joins Charlie Symonds, Obadiah Obasuyi and Darion Rivers as the other offensive linemen in the Pack’s Class of 2023.
