In November, N.C. State will take the second of two trips this season to the Bahamas to play in Battle 4 Atlantis, the highlight of its non-conference basketball schedule the Wolfpack released last week.

Monday, the Pack found out who it will face first — and it’s a doozy: N.C. State will face defending national champion Kansas in the tournament opener on Nov. 23 at noon. The game will be televised on ESPN.

The rest of the matchups on the first day include Dayton against Wisconsin, USC against BYU, and Tennessee against Butler.

N.C. State and Kansas have played 12 times before, with the Jayhawks holding an 11-1 all-time advantage. The last time the two teams played was in the NCAA tournament in 2012, a 60-57 Kansas win.

The Pack’s lone win in the series was the first meeting between the two teams in 1958. N.C. State won, 66-63.

The Pack will also play games in the Bahamas on Nov. 24 and 25.

N.C. State’s first trip to the island nation will be this weekend, when the Pack travels to play a series of exhibition games.
