NC State men’s basketball recruit Tremayne Parker has reclassified for 2024, but will remain committed to the program, he announced on Instagram. The point guard was originally expected to join the Pack this upcoming season.

“Having devoted a lot of time thinking about what’s next — I decided to reaffirm my commitment to NC State for the year 2024, electing to continue playing at OTE for another season,” Parker said in his statement. “I am prepared to dedicate myself wholeheartedly to becoming the best player, teammate and role model I can be. I still will be part of the Wolfpack Nation.”

Parker, originally from Fayetteville, was the No. 90 overall prospect in the Class of 2023 and spent his senior season at Overtime Elite’s City Reapers in Atlanta, Georgia. He averaged 12.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game in the 2022-23 regular season.

The City Reapers won the Overtime Elite League championship in a 3-0 sweep. Parker averaged 9.2 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game in the playoffs. He is now one of two commitments for the 2024 class, with shooting guard Paul McNeil Jr.

With Parker no longer joining the Wolfpack for the 2023-24 season, head coach Kevin Keatts now has only one true freshman coming to Raleigh, 6-foot-7 small forward Dennis Parker III.

The rest of the Wolfpack’s incoming players are transfers: M.J. Rice, a 6-5 shooting guard from Kansas, Michael O’Connell, a 6-2 point guard from Stanford, Mohamed Diarra, a 6-10 power forward from Missouri, Ben Middlebrooks, a 6-10 center from Clemson and D.J. Horne, a 6-1 point guard from Arizona State.
