N.C. State men’s basketball and new head coach Will Wade landed another top recruiting target ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Michigan State transfer Tre Holloman told On3 on Sunday he has committed to the Wolfpack, becoming the third incoming transfer for the program since it changed coaches.

The Pack’s staff, including new general manager Andrew Slater, confirmed the commitment with celebratory social media posts.

Holloman, listed at 6-foot-2, is a four-star transfer, according to 247Sports, and ranks No. 18 among point guards. He averaged 9.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game for the Spartans last season.

The junior finished with at least 10 points in 16 games this season and six or more assists in 10 contests.

Holloman scored a season-high 20 points in the Spartans’ regular-season finale against Michigan. He averaged 10 points and 3.25 assists during the NCAA Tournament and scored in double figures in seven of the team’s last nine games of the season.

In his three years with MSU, Holloman contributed 580 total points and 250 assists. He brings to Raleigh a 2.5 career assist-to-turnover ratio.

Michigan State made the Elite Eight in March, but Holloman entered the portal shortly after the conclusion of the season.

N.C. State’s new staff hit the ground running with its recruiting efforts. Holloman joins Alyn Breed and Quadir Copeland as the Pack’s incoming transfers, with the staff reportedly making contacts with uncommitted players still in the portal.

Zymicah Wilkins and Matthew Able are freshman commits — Wilkins originally committed under former head coach Kevin Keatts — while Paul McNeil announced last week his decision to remain with the program.

The transfer portal closes on April 22, but players do not have to commit to new schools by then.
